Microsoft’s New Zealand Data Centre

Microsoft’s first hyperscale data centre in New Zealand opened in December 2024, representing a multi-hundred million dollar investment in Auckland’s North Shore. The facility is powered by 100% renewable energy through a partnership with Contact Energy and features water-free cooling technology. The data centre provides local cloud services for Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and Dynamics 365, supporting over 33,000 international delegates annually and contributing $90 million in economic impact.
